PadMUN Agenda Details

Pre-Event

Buckle up delegates! As the date of PadMUN 2020 is getting near, let's get you warmed up for the conference through our Pre-Event's series of webinars and talk shows with our special guests, the Board of Dais themselves! Within our Pre-event, our Board of Dais will introduce MUN in general, discussing topics surrounding MUN while also sharing their tips and tricks in starting a MUN career. On top of that, we will also conduct a MUN 101 for the online conference explaining the rules of procedure that may be different from conventional MUNs. We highly recommend you to participate, to have a complete understanding of how the online conference is going to set out and maybe you can also scout on what our Board of Dais has to say. As diplomacy is also about knowing who you will be talking to, we will provide every council with a special discussion session. Within this segment, the chair will lead on to discuss what their expectations are for each council, possibly giving insight on what they demand from you as a delegate. Don't miss out on this unique chance to take note directly from the chair to ensure you are equipped with better preparations to guarantee you with the best MUN experience, especially for PadMUN 2020 - who knows maybe awards await!

Opening Ceremony

To officially commence PadMUN 2020, we welcome delegates from all parts of the world to once again celebrate the spirit of diplomacy through our online Model United Nations conference. In adherence to the Indonesian Youth Pledge celebration, 'Sumpah Pemuda', on October 28th, PadMUN centres around the youth's inclusion and engagement towards global issues with hopes to equip them with the best qualities for a brighter future. We are pleased to announce that PadMUN 2020's Opening Ceremony will be in special collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. It will include a seminar from our very special guests attended by diplomats, academics, and of course the youth that is our fellow delegates of PadMUN 2020.

Meet the Diplomats

Followed after our Opening Ceremony, we will have a special panel session titled “Meet the Diplomats”, inviting Indonesian diplomats to share and provide their insights and experience on their career. We hope that this session will help our delegates to understand the role of diplomats in our world today in guiding them to better represent their countries' position through a MUN conference. We hope that this segment will serve as a basis for delegates to enhance their diplomatic skills opened for all of your curiosities and maybe an answer to your ambitions. Don't miss the opportunity to ask and share all of your questions, inquiries, and aspirations with the real deal!

Meet the Experts

Looking for the perfect time to enrich your research and verify your data? Or just want to fulfil your curiosity regarding the topic? Here we provide you with a segment called "Meet the Experts" that will consist of a substantive discussion with an expert as the opening to the virtual Committee Session. The expert is specializing in their corresponding area to give perspective on the topic based on their work field and professional experiences for every council in PadMUN 2020. A warming up session that will expand the delegates' knowledge and understanding, spark new ideas, inspire innovative solutions, and trigger potential debates throughout the whole conference.

Committee Sessions

Ready for the main event of Model United Nations? The main event that you’ve been preparing yourself for – to represent your assigned country in the council. The pandemic doesn’t stop the world resolution-making, so we provided you with the virtual format of Committee Session, utilizing the Zoom Video Conferencing platform, and moderated by our esteemed Board of Dais. An arena where the delegates are expected to share their ideas and concerns through discussions essentially driven towards heated debates, friendly negotiations, and practical strategies to eventually provide solutions for a specific global issue in accordance with the topic of our councils. As diplomacy is the core value within this conference, everything matters. So, prepare yourself and show your best performance, delegates!

PadMUN Clinic

Most notable for our outstanding substantive excellence, PadMUN will be continuing its long-standing tradition of prioritizing our delegates’ development as the main priority of the conference through our well-renowned session, PadMUN Clinic. A special forum where delegates can have a private virtual consultation in a Zoom Meeting Room with their respective chairs, to acquire direct and personal feedback regarding their performance during the conference. Whether you are a newcomer or even an experienced MUNer, this session allows you to later improve your MUN skills and performance for the rest of the event and help you with the dynamics of the council. Don’t miss the chance to upgrade your MUN skills and experience!

Raise Your Glass! As we celebrate the closing chapter of Padjadjaran International Model United Nations 2020.
